We dedicate vast, diverse terrain for foraging, which is essential to their physical health and provides mental stimulation superior to fenced feeding.

The herd begins their long, slow walk through the designated forest areas to find fresh bamboo, grasses, and wild fruit.
They visit the main watering holes for drinking, bathing, and essential wallowing in the mud to protect their skin from the sun and insects.
Elephants sleep very little (around 4 hours) and often standing. They retire to quiet, sheltered areas after a long day of feeding.
Boonchai has worked with elephants his entire life, but at our sanctuary, his methods are based purely on positive reinforcement and trust. He is dedicated to maintaining the health of the older residents, ensuring their long-term comfort and peace.
